Hi, I am Karen Hyland

I have always loved photography and ever since I was 12 years old, I always had a camera in my hands. It is a passion of mine. I always thought the walls of my house would be covered in wedding photos, baby photos and family photos, however it came as a big shock to me when I discovered how much a lot of photographers charge for these services. I was discouraged and disappointed as I wanted to capture our family just like everyone else and while selfies and family taken photos are great, often one or more people are left out or the children are not co-operating. That is when I set out on a mission, how many families out there, felt the same as me? Everyone deserves to have professional photos of their family in they so choose, so I started Memories Captured Photography. Why Memories Captured? Because that is exactly what we will be doing. For the brief moments of time that you are with me, during your session, we are capturing your memories. I encourage all my clients to just be themselves so we capture authentic and real family moments without a lot of awkward posing. We capture REAL smiles and laughter! Your children are free to run if they want and if you want them to as I continue to capture their excitement.

I offer quality service and photos at affordable prices. I keep my prices low because unlike many photographers, I have a Monday- Friday 9-5 job. I am an educator and a mom to a very special girl who just happens to have ADHD. I feel this helps me and gives me a bit of an advantage sometimes, when working with the most precious members of your family, your children. I would be honored to capture your family memories!

“We recently had a family session photographed by Karen and we couldn’t have been happier. She was patient with our kids and was so open to having our dog join in on the session. She was quick with giving us a few sneak peak pictures. She was very kind and I would certainly recommend her. Thanks so much.”
